Hello out there in bizarro world!

Want to help support me at no cost? Follow this blog!

It's been a while.

I promise it wasn't you. It was me. Life got stupendously busy. It's been weird the last few years, with the pandemic, becoming a full-time single dad, new projects, and my day job.

Creating sometimes has to take a back seat, but not always. Which means I'm getting back to it and I'm taking you along for the ride if you'd like to come.

I'm currently working on my new workshop course, GZS Presents DIY Guerilla Publishing: Making Zines!

This one really excites me because I've been making zines since I was a kid. As a teenager, I feel in love with the indie comix and zine scenes. I finally got back to that culture a couple of years ago and started making them again. I use new techniques, but the feeling of making a zine, the unlimited creative power, feels good.

I want to share that with all of you, too! This course walks you through my entire process and gives you all the tools necessary to go forward and create a zine empire.

This is a learn-at-your-own-pace course, so there's no pressure at all! You just focus on the learning and doing, via instruction, homework, and challenges. You'll also get a ton of resources that'll help you start your own zine publishing empire.

I will say, if you are a zine purist who only uses a cut-up method, you might not like this unless you're into making zines digitally. I love cut-up, old school zines, but that's not what THIS zine making course is about.

Speaking of zines...

I hope to launch at least one new zine this year and try to keep it to a bi-monthly schedule at least. I'm still deciding what I want it to focus on, but I'm thinking something that blends fiction and non-fiction writing with cool art, maybe reviews.

More updates on that to come as I build all this stuff in public.

But wait, there's more!

I'm also starting a membership called the Nuke 'Em Coffee Club, because (a) I love coffee, (b) I love sharing my thoughts on creating, (c) this stuff supports me and fills my creative needs, and (d) it will help provide you with a good creative community.

I'll be focusing on a lot of aspects that are important to creators in the modern world, like cool content creation, best platforms to use online, and other practical aspects of doing a super-small press DIY Guerilla Publishing Op.

I also have a GZS Discord setup and will be doing AMAs if you have questions, live workshop challenges, and things of that nature.

I'll share more information about this soon.

You can also make money by helping me sell things!

I pay 50% commission on most items sold via affiliate links. You can generate a passive income while helping promote my publications and courses. You can read more about this here, or you can click the button below to sign up for the GZS Affiliate Program.

Last but not least, thanks for your support in the past!

Having an audience, no matter how large or small, helps a creator keep creating. To have people that have at least a vaguely passing interest in what you do is a cool thing. So truly, thank you.

I'll be putting these newsletters out maybe 4x a month, and I'll try to keep most short and sweet. No spam from this guy.

Until next time...
